What a great time at Otter Creek Outfitters in SE Montana. I had the pleasure of hunting with two great friends: Hugh Coates from Texas and Dave Frederick from Colorado. We harvested 3 wonderful Mule Deer and an Antelope in 4 days. We hunted on over 60,000 acres and saw a ton of game.

I spent last week filming for Resort and Residence TV on the beautiful Island Time yacht (http://www.yacht-islandtime.com/). We docked at Sampson Cay in the southern Bahamas. Captain Peter and his crew were great hosts. In a 3 day period, I filmed swimming with sharks, diving in Thunderball Cave, spear fishing, shark fishing, snorkeling on a reef, diving for lobsters, jet skiing, grouper fishing, and swimming with wild pigs (really!) and a little relaxing on the yacht! They had a fantastic chef flown in from England that prepared some amazing dishes and the R and R TV crew was wonderful to work with.

Johnny Powell from St. Louis Missouri joined Mark Tobin and I at Lost Valley Lake Resort in Owensville MO on a fishing expedition. Johnny is 18 years old and has Downs Syndrome. I have known Johnny and his family for years and it is such a pleasure to be around him. Johnny, like most special needs kids loves everyone he meets and brings a world of joy into each and every day. Five minutes into our opening, Johnny took the mic from me and announced “he was the real TV star”. What a character! Johnny caught a fish with Mark and I, but we couldn’t talk him into “giving it a little sugar” on the lips before we threw it back like my buddy Jimmy Houston does.

I had the pleasure of taking the Minnesota Vikings All Pro Defensive End Jared Allen on a Montana adventure right before football season started. Jared, myself and Dan Duffy, the CEO of United Country Real Estate headed to Craig MT with local United Country broker Tom VanHoose. We were hunting black bear on an unbelievable ranch that Tom currently has listed for sale. After several days chasing bears through the mountains, our group headed to the mighty Missouri River to fish with Head Hunter Outfitters for rainbow and brown trout. Head Hunters put us on fish all day long. Jared and I caught fish after fish, with an average trout around 18 inches. It was a fantastic trip and we hope to have Jared on the show again.

Mark Tobin and I hosted the first American Outdoorsman Weekend of 2009. We hosted the event at Colorado River Adventures, located on the Colorado River just south of Lake Havasu in Parker AZ. The weather was AWESOME! Mark and I fished with local guide Mark Wilkerson. Additionally, we hosted tons of outdoor enthusiasts as Mark and I and several members of our Pro Staff demonstrated fly fishing, game calling, mountain biking, outdoor photography, bait casting and kayaking.
